2nd Night for Father Christmas
0Last night Father Christmas visited Rayne. He was very pleased to see so many children.
Father Christmas and his helpers collected £366. Thank you for support.
Christmas collections have started
0Father Christmas has started his visits to the people of Braintree. Last night we were in the Clare Road area and collected nearly £400. A big thank you to all who contributed.
Braintree Lions raise £2092.23 for C-in-N
0Thanks to everyone who donated to the Braintree Lions Children-in-Need collection. We raised the great total of £2,092.23.
Special thanks to Braintree Railway Station and Freeport Braintree for allowing us to collect on their property.
Once again Thank You to all the generous people who gave money.
Children-In-Need starts tomorrow
0Remember that Children-In-Need is tomorrow. Braintree Lions start nice and early and will be at Braintree station from about 6am.
They will then be at Freeport Braintree from 10am to 4pm on both Friday and Saturday.
Please help us raise lots of money for this very worthy cause.
Braintree Lions Cheque Presentation Evening
0Representatives from a number of local and national charitable organisations attended a presentation evening with members of the Braintree branch of Lions International to receive cheque donations from a number of Lions fund-raising activities throughout 2011.
First Stop Care Advice Centre , Crossroads Carers Support, Home Start Family Support, Essex Dementia Care, New Direction Residential and Resettlement Centre and Macmillan Cancer Support received cheques which amounted to £4,830 in total.
Graham Ogan from Macmillan Cancer Support commented that “this once again demonstrates the excellent relationships which Braintree Lions has with all these worthwhile charitable organisations coming together to assist and serve the local community”.

Donation to Helen Rollason Cancer Fund
0Braintree Lions handed over a cheque for £1000 to Angela Lodge at the Helen Rollason Cancer Fund on the 3rd September, the money was raised from the Braintree’s 6th Real Ale Festival which was held at the Institute in June. The Helen Rollason was listed as one of the main benefactors for the event, which saw over 60 barrels of real ale consumed over the 3 day event.
