The 11th Night of Father Christmas
0On the 11th Day/Night of Christmas Santa, and his elves, were finally able to put their tired feet up.
Thanks to the amazing generosity of the people we have been able to collect nearly £4600. This money has been and will be used to help the less fortunate people of Braintree.
The Lions Club of Braintree would like to thank everybody for their continuing support, not just over Christmas, but through out 2011.
We wish you a safe and happy Christmas and New Year and look forward to seeing you in 2012.
Now all Santa has to do is visit all the good children of Braintree on Saturday night!
The 5th Night of Father Christmas
0On the 5th night of Christmas Santa visited the Gt. Notley (Tesco area) Estate, but not before he had spent the day in the heart of Braintree, outside the Tesco store. Thanks to all the people who came and said hello. We collected £421.49 in town and £507.70 at Gt. Notley. Again the generosity is greatly appreciated.
Braintree Lions Cheque Presentation Evening
0Representatives from a number of local and national charitable organisations attended a presentation evening with members of the Braintree branch of Lions International to receive cheque donations from a number of Lions fund-raising activities throughout 2011.
First Stop Care Advice Centre , Crossroads Carers Support, Home Start Family Support, Essex Dementia Care, New Direction Residential and Resettlement Centre and Macmillan Cancer Support received cheques which amounted to £4,830 in total.
Graham Ogan from Macmillan Cancer Support commented that “this once again demonstrates the excellent relationships which Braintree Lions has with all these worthwhile charitable organisations coming together to assist and serve the local community”.
